CSX Transportation’s largest and most productive automated classification facility is located in Waycross, Georgia. Waycross’s importance to the system traffic pattern and geographic location combine to establish it as an ideal facility site. Six separate CSX lines radiate from Waycross, resulting in direct access to all areas of the Southeastern United States. Approximately 65 trains per day are handled in the Waycross facility. Communities south of Atlanta have a one to two day delay in shipments as compared to delivery to and from Waycross.
